Outdoor Chattanooga hosted the city’s end-of-summer riverside celebration on August 25-26, 2023. Activities included several paddling events, biking, climbing, skating, water games, disc golf, music, and more! Daily activities included entry-level to expert opportunities with something for everyone in the family.

This two-day event started Friday, August 25th with a Splash Down into the Tennessee River, where spectators watched friends skating and biking on a ramp and being launched into the river. A Roller Disco Party, short paddle across the Tennessee River courtesy of Black Women Paddle, and plenty of activities (music, food, beer garden, glowing activities, graffiti wall, and more) rounded out the night.

Saturday kicked off with the 2nd annual Paddle Down, a relaxed 5.4 mile paddle down the TN river from Rivermont Park to Coolidge Park. This event was followed by a number of cool activities from a fireboat splash to a bike playground.

Over 1,500 residents attended over the course of the festival. Friends of Outdoor Chattanooga provided the foam slide for kids (and those of us who refuse to grow up!), roller skate demo, and slack lines.
